Although the locking mechanism on the AquaFresh WF425 looks different from the OEM, it is compatible with the same refrigerator models. The construction of the top of the head is spring-loaded to improve stability and ensure a tight fit.
To install the filter push the filter firmly into the receiver, because the head is spring-loaded it will require a little more pressure than the OEM. Once the filter has bottomed out in the receiver release pressure and the filter will lock into place. If the filter is not pushed in firmly enough it can pop out of the receiver with the locking mechanism opened. The locking mechanism needs to be reset to the closed position before installation or the filter will NOT lock into place.
